I won a gold disc!!

Better late than never I suppose and it is nice to get some recognition.

I have at last won a Gold disc for 100,000 sales of 2People in Europe.  The crazy thing is that in the 60's you got a Gold disc for sales of a million singles.  Now I hear rumours of singles getting into the top 40 with just a few thousand online only sales.

More and more artists and writers are struggling to make money from music and it is increasingly clear that music sales are no longer the primary source of income.  Synching music for adverts and movies are the biggest source of revenue for major artists and so hopefully sites like Sellaband will allow smaller, indie artists to share in the windfalls.
